Meet Krupa Patel,

Executive Chef of Village Vine 

   Krupa is a Delco native and has been cooking professionally for over six years in Philadelphia, working her way up the line, cooking at Philadelphia Country Club, a.kitchen, and Vernick Food & Drink and has been Village Vine Sous Chef since last winter. Krupa comes from a lineage of women who have expressed care for their families and communities through cooking. She is connected to them through anecdotes like the time her great-grandmother, Kashi Patel, brought together the Gujurati community in Tanga, Tanzania to cater and serve a 500 person wedding with just one week’s notice. Krupa's Grandmother, Urmila Patel (Uba), has been catering for over 7 decades, across 3 continents. At 5 years old, Krupa spent a month with Uba, kitchen supervisor at the Northwick Park Hospital, UK, and saw her grandmother lead with love in the workplace the same way she guided her family at home. Uba’s work ethic and charisma is unparalleled but Krupa is grateful to be fueled by following her example. Krupa’s mother, Damini Patel, has always told her that mental health and wellbeing are reflected in the quality of your actions, especially when it comes to the food you make to share with others. Krupa firmly believes that the food tastes better when the ones that make it are joyful and when anyone that tastes it is able to share with family, friends and their community that experience. Krupa is looking forward to working with owners Jill and Lori, manager: Whitney, and sous chef: Jay to cultivate hospitality that reflects this vision.
